Newaygo is a river town on the Muskegon River, about 19 miles west of Howard City. The two are connected by a single highway: M-82 runs east from Newaygo and ends at US-131 Exit 118, right at the edge of Howard City.

That makes Howard City an easy place to reach from Newaygo, and a useful one if your work crosses county lines.

The drive from Newaygo

Take M-82 east. It follows 82nd Street along the southern edge of the Manistee National Forest and ends at Exit 118. From there, continue east on M-46 about two miles into the village. Most days it’s a drive of under half an hour, with very few turns.

Why lease east of the river

Your clients are in more than one county. If you serve customers in Newaygo County and also in Montcalm, Mecosta, or northern Kent, Howard City is in the middle of all of them, and right on the freeway.

You need US-131 often. Newaygo doesn’t have a freeway. If you’re regularly heading to Grand Rapids or Big Rapids, an office at Exit 118 starts every one of those trips at the on-ramp.

Your clients value privacy. For counselors and advisors, an office one town over can make clients more comfortable than one on the main street they drive down every day.

Who from Newaygo leases an office

  • Contractors and field businesses that work across Newaygo and Montcalm counties and need a clean room for paperwork and meetings
  • Advisors, agents, and bookkeepers with clients in several towns
  • Remote employees who want an office near the freeway for their trips south

When an office in Newaygo makes more sense

If your clients are all around Newaygo, Fremont, and the M-37 corridor, you’ll probably want to stay closer to home. Howard City fits when your work already heads east.
