Lakeview is a village in northern Montcalm County, about 13 miles east of Howard City on M-46. It’s a good place to live, but it isn’t on a freeway, and that shapes every trip to Grand Rapids or Big Rapids.
An office in Howard City changes that. M-46 runs west from Lakeview directly into the village, and US-131 is just past it at Exit 118.
The drive from Lakeview
Head west on M-46 and stay on it; the same highway takes you into Howard City. Expect around twenty minutes in normal conditions. From Edmore, farther east on the same highway, add a little more.
Why an office on the freeway side
If your work takes you to Grand Rapids, Big Rapids, or Cedar Springs, an office in Howard City puts you at the on-ramp. You start the day next to US-131 instead of adding a two-lane drive to every trip.
It also helps your clients. People coming from Newaygo County, Kent County, or down the freeway from Big Rapids can reach an office at Exit 118 much more easily than one in Lakeview.
Who from Lakeview leases an office
Professionals with clients in several counties. Accountants, advisors, and agents whose clients are spread between Montcalm, Newaygo, Mecosta, and Kent counties can meet more of them in one place.
Remote employees who travel. If you go into a Grand Rapids office some days and work alone the rest, an office in Howard City cuts both drives.
People who want work out of the house. Sometimes the reason is simpler. You want to leave home in the morning and come back in the evening, and a twenty-minute drive is a reasonable price for that.
Compared with an office in Lakeview
If your clients are all in Lakeview and you rarely leave town, an office close to home makes more sense. Howard City is the better fit when your work already points west, toward the freeway.
